Cancer in Ohio

In Ohio, cancer is the second most common cause of death, accounting for nearly 1 in 4 lives lost (American Cancer Society). Kateswell was founded to help address this societal crisis.

The ACS estimates that 74,140 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in 2023, and will claim the lives of 25,140 Ohioans. View infographic here.

The 2021 special section of the ACS report focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people living with cancer. This section is intended to provide information on the long-term consequences of the pandemic on cancer health issues.
